IAUT is pleased to organize a debate on “Returning to Iran, Opportunities and Challenges” with a Presentation by Dr. Eaman Eftekhari vice-head of School of Mathematics, Institute for Theoretical Physics and Mathematics (IPM), Tehran.
In his presentation, Dr. Eftekhari will speak about his experiences as a researcher after returning to Iran. He will discuss some of the opportunities and challenges that a university graduate may face if he or she decides to return to Iran after completing his/her degree. Dr. Eftekhari will also describe some of the programs that currently exist to facilitate the scientific exchanges between researchers inside and outside Iran. His talk will be followed by discussion among the audience.
Dr. Efekhari is currently the vice-head of the school of Mathematics at the Institute of Theoretical Physics and Mathematics (IPM) in Tehran. He obtained his PhD in Mathematics at Princeton University in 2004 which was followed by a post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard University till 2007. He then returned to Iran and joined IPM as a senior post-doctoral research fellow. Dr. Eftekhari is also a Sharif University alumni and the recipient of two Gold medals in International Mathematics Olympiad in 1995 and 1996.
